Most years I sign up to donate gifts to specific children through New York Cares. They send you a note from the child where they describe themselves and say what they would like to receive. Usually I end up sending something fun off the list and then something useful like socks or scarves from GapKids.
This year's kid is asking for items from Victoria's Secret. Mind you, it's body spray (perfume) and a hoodie, but... really, Victoria's Secret?
I try not to editorialize with the gift giving and will of course pick something from the list. But seriously, the first time I've been into Victoria's Secret in over 10 years and it will be to buy a present for a tween. Shame on you VS and your advertising/products targeting children.
Ok off the soapbox now. Yes, I'm old.
